Maison Bleue is not your typical Scotland restaurant. Specialising in Mediterranean and French food, it serves a little bit of sunshine onto your plate. Located in the heart of Edinburgh's old town, the bright blue exterior makes it instantly recognisable.
The bright blue of the building isn't the only thing that stands out; bursts of colour from the hanging baskets, interior stone arches, and a spiral staircase add to the unique ambience and are a nod at Edinburgh's traditional past.
The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, ensuring your every need is satisfied, that you understand the menu and that you thoroughly enjoy your dining experience at Maison Bleue.
The delicious menu is comprised from locally sourced produce, delivered daily. Experienced, skilled chefs, many of who are of French or Mediterranean descent then prepare a feast of food fit for any king.
A range of wines and cocktails to suit every taste accompanies the delectable menu. It is easy to see why Maison Bleue is a Harden's recommended restaurant for 2010.
There are many offers to further tempt you to dine at this Scotland restaurant. Student nights on Tuesdays offer cut-price three course meals. The lunch and pre-theatre menu is at an unbeatable price of £6.90.
At those prices you will find yourself returning again and again. There are also many other seasonal offers for you to take advantage of.
The sociable, relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal place to enjoy time with your friends and at the weekends, the lounge opens up and the place is filled with music.
The best way to benefit from this fine restaurant is to order lots of food and share, in the Mediterranean tradition. As expected of a restaurant of its calibre, Maison Bleue is always busy so you will need to book to avoid disappointment.
