From Bari on the Adriatic coast of Italy comes owner Graziano Spano and from the heart comes the traditional and wholly authentic Italian dishes on the menu. Situated on Easter Road in the city, Al Dente extends to the visitors and residents of Edinburgh the warmest welcome and presents them with a culinary exploration of Italy in true Trattoria style.

The key to the quality of the food is in the name of the restaurant. Literally 'on the tooth' Al Dente is used to refer to the firmness of pasta which can only come from it being freshly cooked.

The concept extends to all the ingredients and this authenticity of the cooking is reflected also in the dining environment which is traditional and understated.

The best of Italy is represented in every course from Antipasti incorporating cured meats, swordfish, and calamari, the Primi course which makes the most of that fresh pasta to Secondi featuring a range of superb meat and fish dishes.
